The presence of Smooth muscle antibodies is an indication of chronic-active hepatitis, viral hepatitis, infectious mononucleosis and others.
CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE
Depending on the individual activity of the disease, antibodies against Scl-70 have
been found in 25% - 70% of patients with progressive systemic sclerosis (diffuse form).
They do not occur in circumscript scleroderma. |
