Capsule Health with Satyma “Capsule Health Program” is a Social Responsibility initiative taken up by Apollo Hospitals in association with SCWEC (SAARC Chamber Women Entrepreneurs Council) and Satyam for women from the under privileged sections and from rural Andhra Pradesh. 85 women, who were economically backward and school dropouts, were selected for this training programme.

Consultants from Apollo Hospitals held educative sessions with a focus on Health & Nutrition. The sessions included Introduction of the body parts with their function; Menstruation; Being a Mother – Planning, Antenatal & Postnatal; Breast Feeding – Posture, Long Term Implications & Importance; Family Planning – Methods; STD & AIDS – Introduction to these diseases; Spouse’s Health – Smoking, Alcoholism, Behavioral Pattern & Work Atmosphere; Healthy Nutrition – Importance of Health & Nutrition; Communicable Diseases – Types & Prevention; Child Care, Immunization of the Child – Schedule; Developmental Psychology; Cancer – Risk Factors, Warning Signals, Importance of regular Screening & Treatment; First Aid Measures; Health Insurance – Types of Schemes which concluded with a health check for all the participants.

The initiative is aimed at empowering rural women with skill sets that would help them take up suitable jobs in the various corporates and BPOs’ in addition to being healthy, building confidence and communications skills.

Apollo Celebrates International Women’s Day – March 8th 

Today’s lifestyle is of major concern to women. Family pressure, work and peer pressures are taking a toll on their health and they are experiencing various lifestyle diseases.

Apollo Hospitals in association with Radio Mirchi organized a special program on the eve of women’s day at Taj Deccan for women from different walks of life viz home makers, corporate women, teachers, public sector women to orient them on good lifestyle.

Women participated in the program with great enthusiasm. The Apollo Brest Clinic was launched as part of the program.

A panel discussion was organized “Towards Healthy 2020 – A Women’s perspective”

.Ms.Dinaz did a yoga session followed by healthy eating by Ms.Haritha – Nutritionist and Chef’s from Taj. Professor Adrian Kennedy spoke to the ladies on living healthy followed by an interactive session with Apollo Consultants, Dr.Fogle, Dr.Vindya, Dr.Mahesh Joshi, Dr.Swain and Dr.Bhandari
